This study focuses on discussing the issues of parent participation policy, taking the actual operation of the parent association of S Elementary School as an example. For a year, the parent association was run on a busy schedule of meetings, planning, executing, and reporting. Through the operation of the S Elementary School s parent association, this article raises issues related with the representativeness of the parent association, the difference in perception between parents and the school, low participation rate, types of participation, financial support, and objectification of parents. In conclusion, it suggests that in the policy to promote parental participation, if parents are viewed as the subject of education, the perspective of understanding parents should also be changed.
