The purpose of this study was to suggest a plan for the differentiation and restructuring of lifelong education in the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education. To this end, this study reviewed the status of lifelong education by the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education, conducted in-depth interviews with 17 experts in the field of lifelong education, and conducted surveys on the operation and educational needs of lifelong education programs for 320 parents. This study presented the ‘FUN Seoul Lifelong Education model as a way to differentiate and restructure lifelong education of Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education. The key to the differentiation and restructuring of ‘FUN Seoul Lifelong Education’ is to reclassify various lifelong education programs operated by each department in the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education according to the theme and educational purpose and restructure them into four specialized schools (school for reading books, school over the fence, parents teacher schools, schools everywhere) and link them so that they can mutually support, operate and manage lifelong education in the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education as a single system. The ‘FUN Seoul Lifelong Education model presented in this study will help Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education establish its own lifelong education system.
