In this study, we examined the effects of the M3(Meta-Mind Meditation) program, a youthful character education program based on mind practice. In particular, the SimSim-Puri M3 program was designed to actively complement the existing problems of character education while accepting the standards required by the “Character Education Promotion Act” in the process of upgrading the program structure. First of all, we could expect improvement of self-control ability centering on meditation and we could expect to improve the ability of consideration and communication through community activities. The KEDI character test developed by the Korea Educational Development Institute was used as a measurement tool. The result of the measurement showed that the self-control, consideration and communication were meaningful. Behind this expectation was the provision of voluntary motivation and interest in the process of understanding the character virtue as well as the definition of mind and character through the cognitive aspect and voluntary motivation in the composition of the program. Second, It is based on the understanding of the mind s function, the understanding of the principle in which such mind occurs, and the specific approach to improvement of self-control ability through the step-by-step experience of meditation as its control method. Finally, the design of the program is designed to empathize and express the virtue of humanity mainly through experience. In addition, as the external factors, the M3 program has been practiced for many years and the training of the leaders has been repeated. As a result, the leader experience and capacity have increased, and the degree of completeness of the program has been increased.
