The pure land thought of the Vimalakirtinirdesha Sutra is a practical thought in order to realize the pure land in this world. Although, in the Vimalakirtinirdesha Sutra, some sentences which are related with the pure land of the immaculate mind and the pure land limited to a certain location are found, but related sentences with the pure land of the immaculate mind only emphasize the honest and undefiled mind as the basic cause of the every practice and related sentences with the pure land limited to a certain location are narrated for the purpose of revealing the supernatural power of householder Vimalakirti and other purposes, so that Vimalakirtinirdesha Sutra does not deny the practical pure land thought. Furthermore, the sutra’s discipline methods for the pure land as the practices and actions realizing the pure land include many discipline methods until early Buddhism, therefore the pure land of the Vimalakirtinirdesha Sutra means the enlightenment through practices. Meanwhile, the Pure Land Practice of Vimalakirtinirdesha Sutra emphasizes the honest and undefiled mind above all, because it is the basis of all practice’s cultivation. Then, sutra says that offering of teaching the Dharma is more important than offering material aid. And, as the Mahayana Buddhist practices, the pure land discipline methods of Vimalakirtinirdesha Sutra highlight not only edification method that follows the sentient beings’s capability but also Bodhisattva needs to take the lead by honest and undefiled mind, and as a result, Bodhisattva & sentient beings attain the enlightenment together.
