본 연구의 목적은 불교종립대학인 ‘D’대학 지방캠퍼스 신입생을 대상으로 이루어지고 있는 불교 필수교양강좌의 운영현황을 살펴보고 실제 수업을 들은 학생들의 평가를 분석함으로써 앞으로 불교종립대학 지방캠퍼스 신입생 대상 불교교양강좌의 방향성을 제시하는 것이다. 본 연구는 대학생들의 건강한 성장을 위해 불교교육이 어떤 역할을 담당해야 하며 어떻게 제시되어야 하는지에 대해 시사하는 바가 크다. 즉 불교대학 입학 후 1년 동안 필수적으로 수강하게 되는 불교교양 강의를 접한 학생들은 불교에 대한 이해가 깊어졌을 뿐만 아니라 몸과 마음이 편안하고 안정되는 긍정적 경험을 하였다. 또한 수강생들이 학습목표를 충분히 성취하고 ‘긍정적인 불교’, ‘존경하는 불교 교수 상’, ‘거룩한 스님 상’을 각인시키는 결과를 얻는 것은 불교종립대학에서 불교교양 강좌의 가장 큰 존재이유일 것이다. 따라서 강의 방식과 강의 내용, 교수 요인, 실생활 적용 전략까지 면밀히 계획하여 잘 구성된 불교교육의 제시라는 교육의 가장 본질적인 요소가 교육의 가장 핵심적인 성공요인임을 다시 한 번 확인할 수 있었다.
The purpose of this study was to examine the current state of Buddhist essential cultures that are conducted for freshman students at the ‘D’ university, a Buddhist school, and to analyze the evaluation of the students who actually took classes. It is to suggest the direction of Buddhism culture lecture. This study suggests how Buddhist education should play a role and should be presented for the healthy growth of college students. In other words, students who attended the Buddhist lecture course, which is an essential course for one year after entering the Buddhist College, not only deepened their understanding of Buddhism but also had a positive and relaxed body and mind. It is also the reason why Buddhist scholarship is the most important reason why Buddhist scholars will achieve the goal of learning well and achieve positive Buddhism, honorable Buddhist priesthood, and holy priesthood. Therefore, it was once again confirmed that the most essential element of education, which is the presentation of well-structured Buddhist education, is the most important success factor of education by carefully planning the lecture method, lecture contents, teaching factors, and real life application strategies.
