어린이 오계는 유아교육의 기본이 되는 ‘기본생활습관’을 중심으로 유아기 발달을 위한 필수 과업을 포함하고 있으며, 현대사회 물질만능주의의 폐해를 방지할 수 있는 광범위한 의미를 가진다. 이에 본 연구에서는 이러한 어린이 오계를 유아들에게 접목할 수 있는 교육적이고 방법론적인 매체로서, 인간이 필수적으로 경험하고, 이러한 경험을 통해 보다 풍요로운 삶을 영위할 수 있는 음악을 활용하였다. 어린이 오계가 포함하고 있는 다섯 가지 덕목에 대해서는 7차 유치원교육과정을 참고하여 ‘음악적 요소 찾기’, ‘음악적 표현 즐기기’, ‘음악 감상하기’의 하위 영역으로 구분하고, 그 내용을 1수준과 2수준, 공통수준으로 구분하여 구성하였으며, 이를 실제 적용할 수 있는 적용안을 함께 제시하였다. 어린이 오계를 주제로 한 유아음악활동의 보다 효과적인 현장 적용을 위해 검증 단계를 제시하였으며, 이는 연구자가 구성하여 타당도 검증과정을 거친 척도를 활용하여 ‘사전-사후 실험설계’로 실시되었으며, 수집된 자료는 SAS 9.1을 사용하였다. 그 결과 5개 모든 영역에서 실천과 태도가 긍정적으로 변화하는 통계적으로 유의미한 변화를 보였다.
Children’s Five Commandments include essential tasks for young children’s development on the basis of “basic life habits” crucial to young children’s education and carry comprehensive significance in preventing ill-effects of materialism in modern society. As such, this research utilized music as a pedagogical and methodological medium to introduce the Five Commandments to young children, for music is what humans inevitably experience and enrich their lives through the experience. Five virtues of the Commandments were broken down to subcategories of “Finding Musical Elements,” “Enjoying Musical Expression,” and “Appreciating Music” in reference to the 7th Kindergarten Education Curriculum. The contents of the subcategories were divided into Level I, Level II, and Common Level, and examples of applications for exercise were also provided. In oder to verify the efficacy of the developed activity, “post/pre experimental designs” were carried out by making use of measures formulated and validated by the researcher. SAS 9.1 was used for collected data. As a result, statistically meaningful outcome was found in that positive changes were made in both practices and attitudes in all five areas.
