본 연구는 청소년기의 종교정향의 발달에 영향을 주는 변인들을 탐색하기 위하여 실시되었다. 이를 위해 청소년기의 종교정향의 발달에 영향을 준다고 생각되는 변인 중 불안, 자아개념, 희망, 낙관을 상정하여 이 변인들과 종교정향과의 관계를 실증적으로 알아보았다. 본 연구는 중학교 2학년, 고등학교 2학년, 그리고 대학 1·2학년의 학생 379명을 대상으로 진행되었다. 통계적 분석결과 청소년기 종교정향의 발달과 관계되는 변인으로 불안과 사회적 자아 그리고 낙관으로 나타났고, 종교정향의 하위요인인 외적 정향과는 불안, 사회자아, 개인자아 그리고 내적 정향과는 사회자아와 불안, 추구정향과는 불안과 개인자아가 유의하게 관계가 있는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 이를 청소년기 발달시기로 나누어 볼 때, 중학생과 고등학생의 결과에서 공통적으로 사회자아와 종교정향의 관계가 유의한 것으로 나타났고, 대학생의 결과에서는 불안과 개인자아가 종교정향과 관계된 것으로 나타났다. 논의에서는 청소년기의 종교정향의 발달에 관계하는 변인의 영향의 의미를 논의하고 추후 관련 연구를 위한 시사를 제시하였다.
This research investigates the influential determinants for the development of religious orientation of the youth. On the assumption that anxiety, self-concept, hope and optimism affect the religious orientation, the relationships between the assumed determinants and the religious orientation are studied from the positive viewpoints. The subjects of this research are 379 students in the second grade of junior high-schools and of high-schools, and the freshmen and the sophomores of colleges. This research led to the following results: First, anxiety, social self-concept and optimism affect the religious orientation. Secondly, anxiety, social self-concept and individual self-concept affect the external orientation which is subordinate to the religious orientation. Thirdly, social self-concept and anxiety affect the internal orientation. Finally, anxiety and individual self-concept affect the quest orientation. Additional results are as follows: The social self-concept and the religious orientation are significantly interrelated to each other both in the groups of junior high and high school students. The anxiety and the religious orientation are interrelated to each other in college students. Discussing the influence and the meaning of the determinants for the development of religious orientation of the youth, his research also aims to suggest further studies.
