The purpose of this study is to present a teaching and learning method for the Twelve Gasa of classical vocal music of Korea as song materials in the music class based on the traditional way they were enjoyed. To this end, the way Gasa literature had been enjoyed was examined. The result revealed that the original Gasa should be performed in three ways, the activities of metrical reading (yuldok), reciting (eumyeong), and singing, either organically or in stages. Based on this, learning elements and learning activities were extracted so that the Twelve Gasa could be taught and learned as song materials in the music class. It was seen that the Twelve Gasa could be taught and learned based on literary and musical values and characteristics according to the stages of metrical reading-reciting-singing, and the method could be embodied through .
