The purpose of this study is to explore the content aspects that elementary school pre-service teacher educators should pay attention to when selecting a school playground floor material and from the viewpoint of selection by floor material type. In this study, the research participant is the researcher who conducted the study. Data were collected based on the researcher s face-to-face and non-face-to-face meetings and research journals, and analyzed using the inductive category analysis method. First, attention was paid to hazards and risk of injury in terms of safety as a component to pay attention to when selecting the material for the playground floor. In terms of economic feasibility, it was noted that construction cost, maintenance cost, replacement cost, etc. should be considered comprehensively. In terms of suitability, attention was paid to the fact that the floor material should be selected based on functionality and space utilization. In terms of environmental performance, it was noted that it was necessary to carefully judge the eco-friendliness and harmfulness of the material. Second, in terms of selection of floor material type, maintenance plans were analyzed and presented based on components with high appropriateness for each floor material (massato, natural turf, artificial turf, elastic pavement).
