The Purpose of this essay is to explore new directions of Buddhist home education. First, the Problems of Korean traditinal home education will be exzmined in the light of social context. Second, Buddihist notion of home will be introduced. Third, the Buddha's teaching of home education in Buddhist scriptures woll be explored. Then, we will propose some directions of Buddhist modern home education as follows: (a) methods of the turning meaning and accepting a new generation's way of thinking; (b) respection child as a subjective perpon who has Buddha nature: (c education of the Middly way which teaches harmonious achievements of life; (d) counselling education with dialogue; (e) harmony of compassion and struct teaching.
