Despite the increased interest in school parent, questions are being raised about the identity of school parental studies. In addition to the ambiguity of the concept of ‘school parent’, the complex relationship of the related term ‘parent’ plays a role to the cause of such identity confusion. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to explore the identity of school parental studies and parental studies through conceptual definition as an independent sub-discipline. For this purpose, the identity of the study was explored through the concept of school parental studies and parental studies in general. This helps reveal the necessity of strengthening the academic status of school parental studies. The academic identity became more clearly defined through the conceptual definition of school parental studies, and parental studies. The concept of parental studies should not encompass all areas from a single perspective, but an approach that utilizes various ideologies and perspectives on the basis of newly established study.
