Purpose: This study used meta-analysis to analyze the effectiveness of Group Counseling Program using MBTI implemented in Korea for students. Methods: A total of 19 articles(33 effect variables) were selected according to the data selection criteria and a meta-analysis was performed. ‘meta and meta for’ package in R4.3.1 were used to analyze mean effect sizes, heterogeneity, the modulating effect and publication bias. Results: The mean effect size of Group Counseling Program using MBTI for students was large(Hedges’ g=0.93, 95% CI [0.71, 1.15]) and it showed considerable heterogeneity(I2=75.9%, Q=132.85, df=32, p<.001). Results of analyzing the moderating effect using meta-variance analysis and meta-regression analysis, the largest effect size was seen in exceeding 10 sessions(g=1.26, CI [0.51, 2.01]), 600-1000 minutes(g=1.16 CI [0.56, 1.76]), college students(g=1.11, CI [0.60, 1.62]) and career effect variable(g=2.38, 95% CI [0.87, 3.40]). Finally results of checking publication bias using a funnel plot, Egger’s regression test and trim-and-fill analysis, there was some tendency for publication bias. But it was not significant. Conclusion: Based on these results, The Group Counseling Program using MBTI for domestic students is considered an effective program in strengthening students' ego, adaptation, and career-related capabilities. This study is significant in that it provided evidence-based data needed to develop and apply a customized MBTI group counseling program for elementary, middle school, high school and college students.
