The purpose of this study was to develop and validate Parent Rating Social Cognition Checklist for young children. It was conducted on 347 caregivers of children aged 3-6, and the final items was selected after analyzing the goodness of items, and the validity of this checklikst was analyzed. As a result of analyzing the descriptive statistics of the initially developed 44 items, the average and standard deviation of the 8 items were found to be extreme values, so they were deleted. After that, as a result of analyzing the contents of the items, seven additional inappropriate items were deleted. As a result of reliability analysis and correlation analysis, one additional item was deleted, and 28 questions were selected as the final question. As a result of Confirmatory Factor Analysis, it was confirmed that the model of this Parent Rating Social Cognition Checklist for young children was appropriate. In addition, as a result of the correlation analysis, it was found that Parent Rating Social Cognition Checklist for young children has a significant correlation with the Children’s Social Understanding Scale(CSUS) and mobile application-based social cognition evaluation tool for young children and it was confirmed that the Parent Rating Social Cognition Checklist for young children was valid and reliable to measure the social cognitive ability of children aged 3-6. Based on these research results, the significance and limitations of this study were discussed.
