This case study sought, through group art therapy, the experiences and meanings of mothers undergoing parenting stress. Research participation inclusion criteria included being a mother raising a child; four mothers were selected through the G City online community. From August 2018 to October 2018, a total of eight sessions were conducted for 120 minutes each. Participants were observed using the verbal record, interview log, observation log, and a picture of each session. Through this study, the experiences and meanings of group therapy for mothers experiencing parental stress are as follows. First, the participants found themselves tired of parenting stress, and the sessions helped to alleviate parenting stress. Second, the negative emotions from the pressure of raising children effectively turned into the positive, and participants re-explored the meaning of raising children from a perspective focused only on the children s problems. Third, the participants had an expanded view of reflecting back on their lives, and this reflection led to a small practice of personal growth. Unlike previous studies that deal with group art therapy that aimed at lowering parenting stress related to raising children with disabilities and diseases, this study was meaningful and discriminative in that it dealt with the experiences and meanings that come from alleviating the parenting stress of mothers who have ordinary children, as a vivid experience through group art therapy.
