The aim of this study was to use the analytic qualitative meta-synthesis survey method to review the meaning of bereaved people s experiences during the mourning art therapy. We have identified, assessed, synthesized, and examined the results of the qualitative study on mourning art therapy to overcome bereavement. A total of four research articles have met the criteria and were selected. We identified 15 sub-themes and five themes, as set out below. These five themes are current self-awareness, the initiation of therapy through immersion and empathy, the opportunity for a deep self-awareness through confrontation, adaptation to life through accommodating bereavement and the formation of an identity for a new life. This study has shown the significance of comprehending subjects’experiences during mourning art therapy and how this understand can be applied to further program development regarding mourning art therapy. This therapy helps participants to accept various emotions, to re-adapt to life, and to form identity for a new life. Based on these results, the implications and limitations of this study are discussed.
