The purpose of this study was to explore the experiences of a multicultural adolescent in art therapy for ego-resilience and understand the meaning of those experiences. The participant in the study was a 14-year-old male multicultural adolescent who received a total of 16 sessions of art therapy, once a week for 90 minutes, from October 11, 2022, to January 20, 2023. Data collection involved audio recordings and transcripts of all art therapy sessions and in-depth interviews, as well as photographs of artwork and the researcher's observation journals. The data were analyzed through session-based content analysis and an iterative comparative analysis method. Based on the results of this study, the following conclusions were drawn: Firstly, the study participant came to understand and accept himself through art therapy. Secondly, he learned to express his emotions and regulate feelings of anger. Thirdly, through the art therapy process, he developed a positive self-image, which allowed him to look forward to a positive future. Fourthly, as he completed his artwork, his problem-solving ability was improved, and he began actively seeking ways to pursue his dream. Therefore, art therapy for ego-resilience enabled the multicultural adolescent to regain inner strength, understand and regulate himself, and solve problems, leading to personal transformation and growth. The significance and limitations of this study were discussed based on these research findings.
