The purpose of this study is to comprehensively understand how teacher learning is unfolding in the domestic teacher learning communities through qualitative meta-analysis of the research that deals with cases of the domestic teacher learning community. For this purpose, researchers analyzed teacher learning in the cases of teacher learning communities introduced in prior research in terms of its method, depth, and results. As a result of the analysis, ‘sharing’, ‘reflecting’, ‘giving and receiving feedback’ and ‘studying’ were used a lot as methods of teacher learning, while some learning communities were also using ‘experimenting’. In addition, the specific way in which each learning method was utilized differed depending on the learning focus of the learning community. In terms of the depth of teacher learning, rather than ‘high’ conversations about basic assumptions and principles related to teaching methods, ‘low’ conversations about ideas about teaching methods and ‘middle’ conversations about why they want to use them were mainly shown. In most learning communities, learning was taking place at a level that crossed this level, or ‘low ↔ middle’ level, but there were some learning communities where only ‘low’ levels of conversation were made, or on the other hand, intensified conversation to ‘high’ levels. In terms of teacher learning, the domestic teacher learning community mainly contributes to the cultivation of pedagogical content knowledge (cognitive aspect) and the promotion of confidence and teaching efficacy (emotional and social aspect). A discussion of these findings was presented in the conclusion.
