This study was conducted to investigate the needs of parents with early childhood children for parental education and to provide basic data on parental education development. For this purpose, a questionnaire was distributed to 142 parents who agreed to participate in the study after explaining the purpose of the study to parents with infants aged 3 to 5 living in Paju, Gyeonggi-do, and a questionnaire was conducted from May to June 2022. In addition, a total of 101 copies were analyzed through frequency and ratio using the SPSS 28.0 program, excluding 41 copies of unfaithful responses by reviewing the collected questionnaires. As a result of the study, first, it was found that all parents perceived the necessity of parental education programs, and the majority expressed willing to participate. Second, the demand for the group type of parental education program preferred ‘education programs for middle-sized group members with 5 to 8 employees’, and it was found that ‘coaching or role play in actual situations’ was required as an educational method. In addition, regarding the session and time of implementing parental education programs, ‘second to fourth sessions’ were considered appropriate, and the time of ‘1 hour to 1 hour 30 minutes’ was most preferred. It is expected that the results of this study will be used as basic data for the development of parental education programs for parents with early childhood children.
