In certain countries, the average life expectancy and the aging population are rapidly progressing, and in Korea, the population structure that combines population aging and the low birth rate is changing. Such a sharp rise in the aging population leads to economic and social ripple effects. However, there is a lack of awareness of senior citizens sports activities, and the proportion of inactive senior citizens is very high. Thus, to reduce the annual burden of health care costs, a preventive approach to encouraging sports activities, and a shift in national health policies are paramount. This study was conducted to derive important information to diagnose the elderly movement’s related issue by analyzing the major keywords and related keywords of the elderly movement, focusing on newspaper articles searched by the elderly movement through keyword networking analysis. The research method utilized newspaper articles provided by the Korea Press Foundation s news analysis system, www.bigkinds.or.kr, and conducted simple frequency analysis, centrality analysis of connectivity, and N-gram analysis using Textom, a big data analysis solution program. Based on the findings, the direction of the elderly movement policy is proposed as follows: First, policies that consider representative diseases of the elderly should be made when establishing policies related to the elderly movement. As a result, various and detailed exercise programs to prevent elderly diseases will be needed. Second, the government s policy against dementia and falls should precede among elderly diseases. It will be necessary to distribute exercise methods such as grip exercises and finger yoga that senior citizens can easily follow in preparation for dementia or fall, and expand visiting and non-face-to-face video services.
