The purpose of this study was to develop a model for the acceptance and proliferation of sports policies reflecting the basic attributes of sports policies and communication features of the authorities based on sports principles. For this purpose, four types of sports policy were set as follows: (1) policies for ‘sports for all’, (2) policies for sports industry, (3) policies for elite sports, and (4) policies for physical education. Afterwards, a survey questionnaire consisting of the attributes of sports policies, communication features, attitude toward sports policies, decision-making of sports policies, the acceptance level of sports policies, and intention to proliferate sports policies was distributed to 400 adults who are interested in sports policies in the Seoul metropolitan area. A total of 328 samples were selected and analyzed for the multiple regression analysis. The results are as follows. First, sports policy attributes had a partial impact on attitude toward sports policies. Second, communication features affect attitude toward sports policies. Third, attitude toward sports policies affected decision-making of sports policies, the acceptance level of sports policies, and the intent to proliferate sports policies. Fourth, the decision-making of sports policies and the acceptance level of sports policies affected the intent for proliferating sports policies. To get support and acceptance of sports policies from the public and stable establishment and spread it, an understanding of multidimensional relations and procedures related to sports policies, and procedural processes reflecting them should be considered, based on this, continuous and expandable sports-related policies should be established and implemented to improve the quality of life for the public.
