e스포츠 산업의 빠른 성장은 많은 이해관계자, 특히 취약한 청소년 참가자들을 잠재적 위험에 노출시키는 다양한 규제 및 거버넌스 문제를 제기하게 되었다. 본 연구는 e스포츠 생태계 내에서 주요 이슈를 중점적으로 해결하기 위한 효과적인 거버넌스 및 정책 프레임워크의 필요성과 역할을 지적하고 제안한 다. 기업 거버넌스 프레임워크를 기반으로 해당 산업의 특수한 형태의 산업 및 거버넌스 개선 방안을 제시하였다. 즉, 이해관계자들의 깊은 참여와 협력을 통해 견고하고 유연한 거버넌스 체계의 구축과 실행을 위한 통합적인 정책 프로세스를 제안하며, 이를 기반으로 스포츠의 거버넌스와 급속히 변화하는 환경에서의 국내 e스포츠 유관 기관들의 거버넌스 필요성과 관련된 다양한 역할을 도출하였다.
The rapid growth of the e-sports industry has raised various regulatoiy and governance issues, exposing many stakeholders, especially vulnerable young participants, to potential risks. This study highlights and proposes the need for an effective governance and policy framework to address major issues within the e-sports ecosystem. Based on corporate governance frameworks, it presents recommendations for improving industry-specific governance in this domain. Specifically, the study proposes an integrated policy process for building and executing a robust and flexible governance system through deep engagement and collaboration among stakeholders. Based on this, directions for future research related to the governance of sports and the governance needs of e-sports institutions in a rapidly changing environment are derived.
