In Korea, many wives who live with addicted husbands, hope that their own local church will influence their spouse to recovery. However, most local churches in Korea do not provide any kind of recovery programs. One possible reason is that the church does not recognize that these wives are suffering from the common family sickness of codependency. This may be caused by overexposure to their addicted husband, without detecting their illness. The church avoids this issue because it does not know how to deal with this problem. The church could not provide any ministry program or education for the sick. It is the goal of this study to develop the perspective educational, counseling, and recovery program of the church for the commonly ignored 20 million people who suffer from addiction and codependency.
