This study is to examine various causes for generativity, explore the psychological and theological outcomes, and discuss new meanings of generativity, in order to enhance generativity of midlife Christian men. In this study, “The Loyola Generativity Scale”was administered on the random sample of 149 midlife men at age between 40 and 60 living in larger cities, with 12 Christian midlife men with higher scores of generativity than the random samples being selected as research participants. This study analyzed life-story of research participants through a spiral data analysis, which resulted in the following findings; the types and characteristics of the generativity in life-story of the research participants were expressed in the following five ways: sanctification-story, story of being the self, story of being the family, neighborhood story, and story of unity with nature. Focusing on the psychology of the generativity and mental health of Koreans from the perspective of pastoral counseling, the study has implications that it provides an integral understanding from theology and psychology on midlife men and an opportunity of growth and contributes to constructing healthy home and generativity society.
