This paper applies bibliotherapy in order to restore the self-esteem of a middle-aged man in particul The Bible and six selfhelp books are used for its therapy. Since self-understanding and selfreflection is the primary goal of bibliotherapy, the counselor introduces his or her clients the characters who may struggle with similar issues in the selected literatures. The counselor also stimulates and facilitates the clients to name their issues with fear, guilt, or shame. In so doing, the middleaged clients are able to reveal their psychological crises and discuss them with one another, which brings healing and restoration of their selfesteem. In conclusion, the middle-aged male clients have restored their self-esteem and improve their sense of human dignity in the counseling program which used the Bible and self-help literatures. Bibliotherapy has also proven itself as an important method of psychotherapy which educates the clients to resolve their psychological issues.
