본 연구는 기독교 대학생과 무교 대학생의 대학생활 스트레스, 부정 정서, 그리고 종교적 대처가 인터넷 중독과 알코올 중독에 미치는 영향을 비교하여 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 기독교 대학생 314명과 무교 대학생 782명에게 설문을 실시하였다. 주요 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 두 집단 간 인터넷 중독과 알코올 중독 정도를 비교해보면, 인터넷 중독 위험군 비율은 기독교 집단이 무교 집단에 비해 다소 높았다. 알코올 중독 관련 위험군은 무교 집단이 기독교 집단보다 높았다. 둘째, 대학생 스트레스, 부정 정서, 종교적 대처가 인터넷 중독에 미치는 영향을 살펴보면, 기독교 집단의 경우 가족관계, 장래문제, 불안, 자기주도형이 인터넷 중독 가능성을 높이는 변인으로 나타났다. 무교 집단의 경우, 장래문제, 불안, 우울이 유의미한 정적 영향을 미쳤고, 이성문제는 부적인 영향을 미쳤다. 마지막으로, 스트레스, 부정 정서, 종교적 대처가 알코올 중독에 미치는 영향을 살펴보면, 기독교 집단의 경우 이성관계, 불안은 알코올 중독에 정적인 영향을 미치고, 우울과 협력형은 부적인 영향을 미쳤다. 무교 집단의 경우, 이성관계, 경제문제, 불안이 알코올 중독에 정적인 영향을 미치고, 교수와의 관계가 부적인 영향을 미쳤다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 기독교 상담적 제언에 대해 논하였다.
This study was conducted to test the effects of college life stress, negative emotions, and religious coping on internet addiction and alcohol addiction, and thus inform Christian counseling. Data of 314 college students reporting protestant affiliations and 783 college students reporting no religious affiliations were analyzed. The findings include: comparisons between the two group yielded significant differences in the effects of college life stress, negative emotions, and religious coping on internet addiction and alcohol addiction. Among Protestants, family relationship, future concerns, anxiety, and self–directive religious coping positively affected internet addiction, whereas for the non–religious, future concern, anxiety, and depression had positive effects and romantic relationship had negative effects. For Protestants, romantic relationship and anxiety had positive effects on alcohol addiction while depression and cooperative religious coping had negative effects. For the non–religious, romantic relationship, economic problem, and anxiety had positive effects on alcohol addiction while a relationship with professor had negative one.
