This qualitative study is based on integration of the stage of EFT, attachment theory, narrative approach for a middle–age couple with conflict of attachment problem. Total 20 session was taken. This research is focused on how to make a change on couple’s relationship and attachment with integration approach. The couple’s relationship pattern and needs for each other were observed through the perspective of attachment behavior, pattern of emotion and communication, which are treated via narrative practices. This couple’s residence os nearby Seoul, who are in their late–40’s with children in their teenage. As a results, the counseling initially focused on the participants’ conflicts, later on the focus shifted to the participants’ childhood issues on attachment experiences, the change of interactional patterns which could make effective improvement on couple’s relationship. When the couple express their needs, wishes and accepted their feelings, couple’s relationship would be improved. Especially, as the husbands’ eagerness and effort to follow the intervention led to significant stability of functional system and the process of counseling. After that, analysis of couple’s report on the counseling progress on ‘attachment’, couple started to tell their feeling and needs, express empathy and understanding to each other. The way of communication is changed from blaming the spouse to understanding and giving empathy each other.
