FPV 드론은 조종자가 드론에 장착된 카메라를 통해 실시간으로 영상을 보며 조종할 수 있는 드론이다. FPV 드론은 교육 현장에서 새로운 가능성을 열어주는 도구이며, 특히 지리교육 분야에서 창의적 학습을 촉진하는 데 유용한 수단이 될 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 예비 교사들이 이러한 FPV 드론을 활용해 실시간으로 공간 데이터를 수집하고 분석하면서 지리적 개념과 공간 인식을 깊이 이해할 수 있는 창의적 학습 전략을 탐구하였다. 이를 위해서 부산의 마린시티와 청사포에서 진행된 실습 활동에 42명의 예비 교사들이 참여하였으며, 이들은 드론을 통해 실제 지형을 탐사하고 분석하면서 전통적인 학습 방법에서 얻기 어려운 몰입감과 실질적인 문제 해결 경험을 쌓았다. 연구 결과에 따르면 FPV 드론을 활용한 학습이 지리적 사고력과 공간 인식 능력을 크게 향상시켰으며, 이러한 도구가 지리교육 분야뿐만 아니라 다양한 교육 분야에서도 창의적 학습을 촉진하는 데 효과적임을 확인하였다. 결론적으로 본 연구는 FPV 드론이 교육 혁신에 중요한 역할을 할 수 있음을 시사하며, 향후 기술 기반 학습 전략의 개발과 적용에 있어 중요한 자료로 활용될 것이다.
FPV drones are unmanned aerial vehicles equipped with cameras that allow the operator to view real-time video feed from the drone's perspective while controlling it. These drones open new possibilities in educational settings, particularly in promoting creative learning in geography education. This study explores creative learning strategies using FPV drones, where pre-service teachers collected and analyzed spatial data in real time to gain a deeper understanding of geographical concepts and spatial awareness. To achieve this, 42 pre-service teachers participated in practical activities conducted in Marine City and Cheongsapo in Busan, where they explored and analyzed actual terrains through drones, gaining immersive and practical problem-solving experiences that are difficult to achieve through traditional learning methods. The results of the study indicate that learning with FPV drones significantly enhanced geographic reasoning and spatial awareness, confirming that such tools are effective not only in geography education but also in promoting creative learning across various educational fields. In conclusion, this study suggests that FPV drones can play a crucial role in educational innovation and serve as valuable resources for the development and implementation of technology-based learning strategies in the future.
