Digital storytelling is an effective educational tool that enables young people to narrate personal stories using digital media for various purposes. Adolescent girls, despite their active roles, often face limitations that hinder their ability to make informed decisions, care for themselves, and receive equal treatment. The current literature lacks a focus on empowering girls through digital storytelling within supportive communities. This study explores a digital storytelling supportive model (DSSM) to empower girls for self-growth and social change. Using participatory action research, a qualitative study with fifty-six participants (girls and boys) engaged them as active contributors. The learning process allowed them to articulate identities, develop problem-solving skills, and build connections with peers from different cultural backgrounds who shared similar interests and concerns. Digital storytelling emerged as a powerful tool for self-representation by allowing the participants to find their voices through visuals and narratives with a gender perspective. The DSSM allowed girls to transform narratives of struggle into stories of strength and advocacy for change. Girls require navigating in a safe space to boost their self-confidence and self-expression and actively participate in a supportive community with local and global members.
