The purpose of this study is to verify the effect of the self-monitoring program using video feedback on the execution function and social function of patients with chronic schizophrenia, and to provide basic data on the possibility of utilizing this program as an efficient tool for the rehabilitation of patients with chronic schizophrenia. To this end, after conducting a self-monitoring program using video feedback on 9 patients in the schizophrenia treatment group and 8 in the control group, two execution functions and two social functions were measured before and after treatment to confirm the effectiveness of the treatment program. For the analysis of the collected data, the experimental group and the control group were analyzed through the Mann-Whitney U test and the Wilcoxon Signed-Ranks test. The analysis results are as follows. First, in the treatment group, a significant improvement was found in cognitive empathy among the sub-elements of empathy through the self-inspection program. Second, in the treatment group, a significant improvement was observed after treatment in the interpersonal function area evaluated by the observer’s rating compared to the control group. On the other hand, there was no significant change in the execution function. Based on these results, the limitations and significance of this study were discussed.
