본 연구는 2017년 개정 일본 학습지도요령에 따라 제작된 소학교 1⋅2학년 음악교과서와 서울 소재 일본인학교의 수업 사례를 분석하여, 음악교육의 구조적 특성과 우리나라 교육에의 시사점을 도출하고자 하였다. 분석 결과, 일본의 음악교육은 학습자의 발달 단계를 고려한 음악 구성요소의 위계적 설계, 지역 전통문화를 반영한 실천 중심 수업, 표현⋅감상⋅창작이 통합된 활동 중심 교수법, 점진적인 악보 지도 방식 등 체계적인 교육 구조를 갖추고 있었다. 특히 일본인학교 수업에서는 놀이와 신체 활동을 중심으로 한 수업 흐름 속에서 음악 개념의 자연스러운 내면화가 이루어지고 있었다. 이러한 분석을 통해, 현재 통합교과 중심의 한국 초등 1⋅2학년 음악교육이 가진 한계를 보완하기 위해서는 독립 교과로의 전환, 체험 중심의 교수법 강화, 악기와 전통문화 중심 수업 확대, 발달단계 기반의 교수⋅학습 설계가 필요함을 제안한다.
This study aims to analyze the first- and second-grade Japanese elementary school music textbooks developed under the 2017 revised Japanese National Curriculum Guidelines, as well and classroom cases from a Japanese school in Seoul, in order to explore structural characteristics of music education and to draw implications for Korean education. The findings revealed that Japanese music education exhibits a systematic structure with developmentally sequenced musical concepts and practice-based instruction that reflects local traditional culture. It also emphasizes activity-centered teaching that integrates expression, appreciation, and composition, along with a gradual approach to music notation instruction. In particular, Japanese school lessons in Seoul showed a class flow based on play and physical activity that facilitated the natural internalization of musical concepts. Based on this analysis, the study suggests the necessity of separating the music subject from Korea’s integrated curriculum the early grades and recommends strengthening experiential pedagogy, expanding instrument- and tradition-based instruction, and designing developmentally appropriate music learning strategies.
