국문초록

This study aimed to examine the mediating effect of social support in the relationship between college students’ job-seeking stress and their level of subjective happiness. A total of 225 college students from universities in the Seoul and Gyeonggi regions participated in the study, and data were collected using previously validated scales, in this case Subjective Well-Being Scale (Shin, 2011), the Social Support Scale (Hwang, 1995), and the Job-Seeking Stress Scale for Students (Kim, 2010). Descriptive statistics were compiled and a correlation analysis were conducted using SPSS 25.0 to identify the general tendencies and relationships among the key variables. In addition, mediation analysis was done with the PROCESS Macro version 4.2 to examine the indirect effect of social support in the hypothesized model. The results revealed that job-seeking stress was significantly negatively correlated with both subjective happiness and social support, while social support showed a significant positive correlation with subjective happiness. Furthermore, social support were found to mediate the relationship between job-seeking stress and subjective happiness, indicating that job-seeking stress had both direct and indirect effects on subjective happiness, with the indirect effect occuring through social support.
