청력장애는 단순히 유형이나 정도에 의해서만 영향을 받는 것이 아니라는 점을 유념할 필요가 있다(홍빛나 & 이정학, 2002). 순음 검사, 어음검사, 전기생리적 검사 등 은 청각 손실이나 언어 청취의 어려움 등의 정도를 검사할 수는 있지만 청각장애로 인해 겪게 되는 사회생활의 어려 움이나 정서적 측면에서의 영향까지는 나타내지 못한다. 이러한 이유로 연구자들은 청각장애로 인한 사회생활의 어 려움이나 정서적 측면에 영향을 측정할 수 있는 신뢰성 있 는 설문지 타입의 측정도구를 개발하고 있다(Cox, 2003).
The purpose of the study was to compare the scores of Korean Evaluation Scale Hearing Handicap (KESHH) between touch-screen version (sKESHH) and paper-and-pencil version (pKESHH) questionnaires. Total 95 hearing impared listeners participated and their average age was 69.7 years old. The Group A completed the sKESHH and then did the pKESHH in 7-15 days. The Group B conducted in the reverse order. The completion time were measured. Also preference version of questionnaire was asked. Results showed that two versions of the questionnaire scores were not significantly different. Completion time of versions were not significantly different. The degree of completion was 100% in sKESHH, but it was 87% in pKESHH. The findings herein demonstrated that computerized touch-screen could be helpful to hearing professionals for collecting, assessing, and analyzing data of level of hearing loss for their patients in clinical practices.
