This study examines applicability of Patterson\'s (1988) Family Adjustment and Adaptation Response (FAAR) model to 201 Asian graduate students and their spouses in a southeast public university. The relationship among time, demands, capabilities, and adjustment were examined using LISREL 8 for Windows\'s structural equation modeling analysis. The results showed that the FAAR model can be a useful tool for understanding dynamics of this special population\'s adjustment. As hypothesized, demand showed a negative relationship with adjustment and capabilities showed a positive relationship with adjustment. However, the result did not show a positive relationship between time factor and adjustment.
