본 연구는 한국 글로벌 기업 A사의 한국인 주재원의 업무수행결과에 영향을 미치는 요인을 찾기 위하여 주재원의 업무수행결과에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 요인을 개인적인 측 면에서의 역량 영역과 선호 영역, 환경적인 측면에서의 조직 영역과 가족 영역의 4가지 영역으로 구분하였다. 본 연구는 통계적 처리를 통하여 4가지 영역이 한국인 주재원의 성공적인 해외 업무 수행에 영향을 미치는 사실을 확인하였고, 한국인 주재원의 선발과 육성 시 개인적 측면의 역량 영역뿐만 아니라 개인의 선호 영역이 고려되어야 하며, 환 경적 측면에서의 한국인 주재원에 대한 조직 영역의 지원과 가족 영역에 대한 지원이 필 요한 것을 확인하였다. 본 연구는 한국인 주재원의 성공적인 해외 업무 수행을 위해서 주재원에 대한 교육 훈련뿐만 아니라 시스템적 관점에서 한국인 주재원을 둘러싸고 있는 조직 문화와 환경이 변해야 한다는 사실을 확인하였다.
The purpose of this study is to identify the variables that influence Korean expatriates' performance at an "A" Korean global corporation. The study examined two areas, individual and environment. In the individual area the study examined competency and preference while in the environment area the study examined organization and family elements. Using statistical method this study was able to identify four areas that influenced successful performance of Korean expatriates. This study found that organizations must not only consider individual competency but preference when selecting expatriates for dispatch assignment and development. It also identified the need for organizational support and family support for the Korean expatriates. This study found that in order for Korean expatriates to achieve successful performance, "A" Korean global corporation needs to change its organization culture and environment based on systems approach and training for the Korean expatriates.
