This study was aimed at analyzing for difference of recognition about old-age welfare according to the gender of the Buddhist monk(bhikkhuni 62 members, bhikkhu 62 members) in Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism. The results of this study were as follows : 1. Recognition of living space according to the gender in general characteristics of Buddhist monks, the residential function of the best after retirement(p=.001) and the residential institution after retirement(p=.001) were had statistically significant, but the residential institution after retirement and the central institution of elderly co-residential facilities were had not statistically significant. 2. Recognition of medical health according to the gender in general characteristics of Buddhist monks, periodic health check(p=.001), medical institutions and substitution method(p=.004), to join for national health insurance(p=.000) were had statistically significant, but health status, experience of long-term hospitalization and medical care of the disease, and the biggest problem in the occurrence of illness were had not statistically significant. 3. Recognition of guaranteed income according to the gender in general characteristics of Buddhist monks, saving for their retirement years(p=.001), personal spending priority(p=.000), presence of salary(p=.000) and retirement welfare pund(p=.026) were had statistically significant, but the need for personal living expenses were had not statistically significant. 4. Recognition about need of aged welfare according to the gender in general characteristics of Buddhist monks, recognized of old welfare(p=.000), the biggestproblem for elderly welfare(p=.006), the central institution of guaranteed retirement(p=.017), and the needs about old-age welfare(p=.002) were had statistically significant.
