This study examines the relationship between types of conflict and job
performance of social worker`s in social welfare centers. Especially, this paper
focuses on the relationship conflict as mediators. 42 social welfare centers in Seoul
have been surveyed, and 176 questionnaires were used for the multiple regression
analysis and the Sobel test. As a result, task conflict level perceived by social
workers has positive effected on relationship conflict. And relationship conflict
level has negative effected on job performance of social workers. Finally,
relationship conflict perfectly mediated the relationship between task conflict and
job performance. Hence, to improve performance of social workers, various
training and education systems for conflict handling styles in social welfare center
are needed.
