본 연구는 자율학교와 일반학교의 학업성취도 차이를 확인하고, 학업성취도 변화에서 차이를 보이고 있는지 알아보기 위한 목적으로 실행하였다. 중학교 가운데 자율학교로 지정된 163개교와 일반학교 238개교를 표본으로 선정하였으며, 학교알리미 사이트에서 제공하는 교과별 학업성취 사항에서 국어, 영어, 수학 교과 3개년도 점수를 대상으로 반복측정 분산분석을 실시하였다. 연구 결과 첫째, 자율학교와 일반학교 간에 국어, 영어, 수학 교과 성취도에서 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 발견되지 않았다. 그리고 국어 교과 성취도는 소재지 및 설립유형에 따라 차이가 나지 않았으며, 영어와 수학 교과 성취도는 특별시 및 광역시에서 더 높게 나타났고, 사립학교 여부는 유의한 영향을 미치지 않았다. 둘째, 국어와 수학 교과 성취도 변화에서 자율학교는 일반학교 보다 증가 폭이 큰 것으로 나타났으며, 영어 교과 성취도 변화는 자율학교와 일반학교 간에 비슷한 양상을 보였다.
This study is practiced for confirming the difference of the achievement between autonomous schools and general schools and investigating the difference on the changes of the achievement of them. 163 schools designated as autonomous schools among the middle schools and 238 general schools were selected by samples, and the repeated measure analysis of variance was performed on the Korean, English, and mathematics achievement provided by www.schoolinfo.go.kr. The results are as follows. First, There was no statistically significant difference between autonomous schools and general schools in Korean, English, and mathematics achievement. The achievement of Korean language did not differ according to the metropolitan area and establishment type, and English and mathematics achievement was higher in metropolitan area. and There was no statistically significant effect on the presence of private schools. Second, the autonomous schools showed a larger increase than the general ones in the changes of Korean language and mathematics achievement. The change of English achievement showed a similar pattern between autonomous schools and general schools.
