The purpose of this study was to prove the effect of group counseling using art as its main medium on
the women experiencing mid-life crisis Level and their life satisfaction level. The test subjects were 18
middle-aged women from ages 42 to 59 living in the P city. Among the participants, 9 were selected for
the experimental group and the rest of 9 were assigned to the control group. The experimental group
attended 12 sessions in total of group counseling for three days from April 23rd to 25th of 2012, with each
session lasting 110 minutes. To verify the effect of group art counseling, the evaluation test of mid-life crisis
and the life satisfaction level test were conducted to both groups before and after the actual sessions.
The result is as follows: First, the group counseling through art has proven to be effective in decreasing
the sense of mid-life crisis for women. Secondly, the group counseling through art also improves the life
satisfaction level of middle aged women. Therefore, the study shows that group counseling through art has
positive effects on both women experiencing mid-life crisis and their life satisfaction level.
