본 연구에서는 현재 개발되어 있는 가상교육 운영시스템의 지원 기능 비교을 위해 국내 6개, 미국 10개의 운영시스템을 조사, 분석하였다. 운영시스템의 지원 기능 분석을 위해 첫째, 지원영역을 학습자, 교수자, 운영자로 나누었고. 둘째, 학습자 지원영역에서는 학습지원, 비실시간 상호작용 지원, 실시간 상호작용 지원 그리고 학습 보조기능으로 나누었고, 교수자 지원영역에서는 코스관리, 코스제작, 자료관리, 강의 보조기능으로 나누었고, 운영자 지원영역에서는 시스템 설치, 시스템 관리, 사용자 지원 기능으로 나누어 조사하였다.
Virtual education is not extension of distance education but the alternative education system with new paradigm. And learner is practical cunsumer in the virtual education. In the learner-centered virtual education, learner`s role is to participate in learning activity positively such as searching the useful information from ill-structured information source and communicating with other learners voluntarily. For maximizing these learner`s roles, virtual education system is necessary to support the learner`s activity. That is, virtual education system should offer environments to meet learning material easily and the method to interact with teacher and peer-learner. So discussion and development about virtual education system is necessary to maximize learner`s activity. Therefore the purpose of this study is to examine closely learner support function in virtual education system for maximizing teaching-learning effects.
