The purpose of this study is the provision of basic information in finding a way to improve the leisure activities of visually impaired by learning the leisure activity level of visually impaired and the factors that have impact on the leisure activity. For the study, 276 visually impaired living in Daegu and Gyungsangbuk-do Province with age twenty or older were taken as study objects. The study results are as following. First, the participation extent of visually impaired in the leisure activities had statistically significant differences dependent on demographic characteristics such as age, education, religion or no-religion and working or not-working. Second, the participation extents of visually impaired in the leisure activities had statistically significant differences dependent on disability characteristic of visually impaired such as the time of disability occurrence and whether using or not using rehabilitation-helping devices. Third, the determination factors with significant impact on the participation of visually impaired in leisure activities were; religion or no-religion, working or not-working, the time of disability occurrence, sufficiency of facilities, ambulatory capability and the use extent of social welfare organization. A social welfare practice plan to improve the leisure activities of visually impaired has been sought based on these study results.
