본 연구는 교정시설의 환경 특성에 기인한 수용자 부문화(subculture)이론을 근거로 부문화 해 소를 위한 상담영역의 활성화 방안을 모색하고, 상담, 교육, 조직문화 등 다양한 분야에 적용 이 가능한 교류분석(TA)이론의 교정시설 적용성 검토를 목적으로 하였다. 자유를 박탈당한 수 용자의 교정시설에서의 적응양태는 교도소화의 과정을 겪으며 부정적인 부문화를 형성하고, 이는 다양한 규율위반과 높은 재범률로 나타난다. 교정상담은 수용자의 심리 · 정서적 안정을 꾀하고 수용자 부문화 개선을 위한 프로그램으로 교정의 가장 전통적이고 중요한 위치를 차 지해 왔지만, 정작 우리나라 교정현장의 상담 전문성은 매우 취약한 것으로 나타났다. 최근 김석현을 비롯한 현장연구가들에 의해 교정상담의 효과성이 입증되었고, 교정공무원에게 필요 한 역량을 도출한 결과 대수용자 감수성, 갈등관리 등 광의적 상담영역이 교정 직무에서 매우 광범위하게 필요한 것으로 나타났다. 이를 기초로 교정시설의 상담활성화 방안을 모색한 바, 교정공무원의 상담관련 자격증 취득지원, 전문성 강화를 위한 관-학 협력체제 구축, 학습동아 리 활성화, 연수원 교육과정 내실화 등이 제시되었다. 더불어 통합 상담이론인 TA는 수형자 심리치료를 위한 상담과 부문화 원인이 된 수용자의 왜곡된 의사교류패턴 수정, 부정적 인생 태도 개선 등 교화프로그램으로서 유용성 및 교정공무원의 위계중심 조직문화 개선에도 크게 기여할 것으로 여겨진다.
The purpose of this study was to explore ways to expand the correctional counseling area which seemed to be the solutions to the prisoners’ subculture and to find out whether transactional analysis applicable to various fields such as counseling, education and organizational culture could be applied to the matters in correctional facility. Many inmates have created negative subculture of their own after their custody in the correctional facilities. In consequence, many violations of behavior standards in facilities and high rate of recidivism have been reported. Correctional counseling has played a major role in psychological settlement of inmates and improvements of subculture in Korea. However, it has been hard to say counseling taken place so far by the staff has been professional enough. Lately, some researchers including Suk-hyun Kim have revealed the effect of correctional counseling. Also, need of counseling was identified widely through staff competency need like conflict management and sensitiveness to inmates. Based on the consequence, some suggestions including promoting to get counseling-related licenses and collaborate with academic fields, boosting knowledge-atmosphere up in the organization and making training programs strength in Legal Research and Training Institute could be brought. A transactional analysis, which is regarded as an integrated theory in psychology, could be a significant role in the inmate counseling, making inmates’ distorted communication pattern and negative perspective toward their lives better. Also, it may help make organizational culture more soft and flexible.
