As 2009 Revised national curriculum has been published in 2009, each subject matter has faced
a difficult situation that should revise 2007 revised national curriculum in 2007 without having
enough time to implement it in all school levels and doing previous research on 2007 revised
national curriculum. 2011 revised national physical education curriculum would be published in
the end of year 2011. In order to provide an essential and informative reference, the purpose of
this paper is to assess 5 parts (introduction, objective, content, teaching-learning, and evaluation)
of the 2007 revised national physical education curriculum and to suggest future tasks for
improving the national curriculum document. To date, few attention was given to research on
national curriculum document in physical education, because the document was being decided
by a national curriculum committees, not a national physical education curriculum committees.
Recently, as the national policy in curriculum revision is changed, we can face flexible
environment in order to seek various national curriculum documents depending on each subject
matter. For this, multiple methods were used such as a survey, in-depth interview and
documents analysis. Thus, it is discussed specifying introduction, restructuring objectives, being
diverse of content elements, simplifying teaching-learning, and clarifying evaluation. This paper
will be helpful to improve the curriculum content as well as the curriculum document in
physical education in the following national curriculum revision work.
