The purpose of this paper is to analyze the common point and the difference in the
description about late Chŏsun Dynasty at the existing the korean history text books for
middle school students in the south and north korea, to recover the nation-identity when
Unification as realizing possibility is to become visible .
The main results of this paper are as follows. The difference in the description about
late Chŏsun Dynasty at the existing the korean history text books for middle school
students in the south and north Korea has been begun at the difference of the goal of
historical education, originating at the difference of nation-organization in the south and
north korea.
But the common point, describing the developed side at economy, society, culture about
late Chŏsun Dynasty at the existing the korean history text books for middle school
students in the south and north korea also has been found.
It is the resulting for historian in the south and north korea to overcome the
Colinial-History. And it will be a foundation to determine direction of the National History,
when preparing Unification. Also and it will be a basis to recover the nation-identity,
when preparing instruction-unification.
