The purpose of this study was to investigate es on perception in school sport coaches during current
transitional period, where new sport culture is forming rapidly. For data collection, this study conducted a
questionnaire survey with a sample of 292 primary and secondary school sport coaches selected from 5
locations throughout the country, followed by data analysis using χ² test was used in order to evaluate the
academic rights and perception changes towards new sports culture among student athletes. As for the
findings, first school sport caches' perception on the appropriateness of implementation grades and selected
academic subjects on minimum academic achievement policy were found to vary depending on school level.
Second, the attitude of school sport coaches which they tried to change an academic environment of student
athletes was indicated to vary depending on school level and athletic categories in this study. Third, their
perception on change of the academic environment within the sport team shifting to ‘academically enhanced‘
was found to vary depending on school level. Finally, the changes in student athletes’ performances are
perceived differently depending on athletic categories and locations of the schools.
