The purpose of this study was to explore what the adminstration problems of all-day
edu-care program for schoolers were, if any and to suggest the way to improve the quality of
programs by investigating how the program was administered and how much children and their
parents participating in the program were satisfied with it. The major results were as follows:
First, the all-day edu-care school programs were diversely administered without the standards of program contents. Second, there were some problems in running the programs, such as the
problems of providing external instructors for extra-curriculum programs in the remote areas,
the burdens of job stresses for the after-school teachers and the teacher-child high ratio in the
after-school care programs to give individual care services to students. Third, children and their
parents were highly satisfied with them. As the lower grade levels of children were, the higher
children and their parents were satisfied with the programs, Fourth, there were positive effects
of all-day edu-care program on improving students' school adjustments and decreasing the
amount of private education expense. Fifth, there was a problem in administrating the
integrated education-care programs by showing that the night child-care centers had low
participation of children, because of advertisement insufficiency of schools and parents' strong
prejudices on the night child-care program. Finally, there was need in the law enforcement in
activating the night child-care programs.
