The aim of this paper is to suggest policy alternatives of lump-sum disability benefits in the national pension. Because the characteristics of lump-sum disability benefits are against goal of the national pension, and there is no sufficient paper which is reviewed about the lump-sum disability benefits. Therefore this article is focus on the lump-sum disability benefits, its status, problems, and advanced foreign cases in related to lump-sum disability benefit system are analyzed, As a result. there are two suggestions to reform lump-sum disability benefit which are long-term alternative and short-term one.
