The current research is a comparative case study research to compare the changes pre-and-post art therapy on
ADHD adolescents with brain lesions in attention problems and aggressive behaviors. Subjects of this research is a
female student who attends W special-education middle school in K city and lives in H rehabilitation facility, and
the date of duration was from 2012. 8. 1 to 2012. 11. 30, two 50 minutes sessions per week and total of 30
sessions. The location of the session was held in the room the subject resides in. Through the discussion of the
current research, following conclusion was achieved. First, art therapy showed affect on declining attention problems
on ADHD adolescents with brain lesions. Through pre-and-post test of CBCL 6-18 on the subject, score 99
percentile and T-score 78 indicated clinical range on the pre-test, but post-test after sessions of art therapy was 85
percentile and T-score 61, showing 14 point and T-score 17 point reduction. Furthermore, behavior of excessive
movement and anxious behaviors during art therapy reduced significantly. Second, art therapy showed affect on
declining aggressive behavior on ADHD adolescent with brain lesions. Through pre-and-post test of CBCL 6-18 on
the subject, score 100 percentile and T-score 74 indicated clinical range on the pre-test, but post-test after sessions
of art therapy was 96 percentile and T-score 68, showing 4 point and T-score 6 point reduction. Also, the subject
demanded more attention on her, broke objects, did not follow instructions, showed serious mood swings, acted
stubbornly, and showed irritation. But through art therapy, the subject followed instructions better, and aggressive
behaviors reduced in actions such as tearing and breaking materials of art therapy. By looking at the results of
HTP assessment, aggressive behavior in the overall size of the drawing and in the tree drawing reduced greatly,
and negative expression of male images due to absence of father changed to positive expressions. Furthermore, it is
seen that verbal and non-verbal expressions have changed to positive expressions. Unlike experimental research and
large number observation research, the current research is a case study of one adolescent subject and thus has its
limitations in generalizing the result. In case of people with intellectual disability, it is hard to say that art
therapy has affect in attention problems and aggressive behavior due to difficulties in inner expressions by
intellectual disability, and it is still objectively unclear if the reduction is due to maturation of the adolescents.
