건강이란 소극적으로는 질병이 없는 상태고, 가장 적극적 으로는 세계보건기구의 이상적이고 규범적인 정의인 신체적, 정신적, 사회적 안녕으로 정의되는데 이러한 정의는 장애나 질병이 없다는 것에 초점을 두지 않고 신체와 심리적 측면과 사회적인 측면, 즉 인간의 총체적인 안녕 상태라는 긍정적인 면을 강조하고 있다. 이러한 건강에 대한 의식의 변화와 건강 관리 비용의 상승으로 많은 사람들은 일상생활 속에서 자신 의 안녕수준을 증진시키고자 하는 건강증진행위에 관심을 가 지게 되었다(Lim, 2005). 건강증진의 개념이 매우 광범위하지만 실제적으로 일차 건 강관리 수준의 접근임을 고려할 때 간호사들의 건강증진자로 서 역할은 매우 중요한데 그 이유로 간호사는 건강생활 실천 자의 모델로서 직접간호 제공자, 건강교육자, 건강행위 촉진 자의 직무를 수행해야 하기 때문이다(Park & Kim, 2000).
The purpose of this study was to identify the affecting factors on the health promoting behaviors of the clinical nurses. Methods: This study was a trans-sectional survey research. The subjects of this study were 206 clinical nurses. The data were collected by questionnaires and medical records. Results: There were significant positive relationships between health promoting behavior and perceived health status, job satisfaction, familial support. There were significant negative relationships between health promoting behavior and depression. The significant affecting factors on the health promoting behaviors of the clinical nurses were depression, familial support and job satisfaction. These 3 factors explain 18.6% of the health promoting behaviors of the clinical nurses. Conclusion: This study provides the empirical evidence that health promoting behaviors of the clinical nurses are closely related to depression, familial support, and job satisfaction. This results can be used to develop health promoting program for clinical staff nurses.
