Purpose: The purpose of this study is to explore attitudes of university students in Jeju for social distance to foreigners. Methods: Subjects are from university: 490 students who reside in Jeju. The data were collected using a structure questionnaire from March 2012. SPSS/WIN 18.0 program was used to analyze the data with descriptive statics and ANOVA. Results: The result summarized as follow; Firstly, the ranks of social distance toward foreigners is North Korean refugees, Americans, Korean-Chinese, Southeast Asians, Japanese, Chinese. Secondly, gender, paternal occupation, paternal highest education level, economic status, experience of visiting a foreign country and experience of meeting a foreigner significantly effect on the attitude of social distance. Conclusion: Based on the result this study suggests that objective information about various countries and neutral perspectives should be provided to university students, and contents and policies of systematic education for multi-cultural values should be established.
