This study explored the relationship between components of empathy and prosocial behavior(PB). Empathy was said to be composed of cognitive and emotional factors. Conceptual analysis of empathy revealed that the cognitive factor could be specified into emotion recognition(ER), perspective-taking (PT) and fantasty(FY), while emotional factor into empathic arousal(EA) and empathic concern(EC) in detail. Two relational model were constructed and tested with empirical data. All components of empathy but emotion recognition were found to have significant positive relation with prosocial behavior.
